Welcome to the Third Grade with Ms. Green.  If you are in my class, you are now an official member of the Green Team!  We are going to have so much fun this year and learn so much - I can't wait to get started.  I look forward to meeting everyone at Meet the Teacher night on Thursday, August 5th from 5pm-7pm. The first day of school will be Monday August 9th.  Below, I am posting my class student list, the classroom supply list, classroom wish list and items that will not be allowed in the classroom.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. My cell number is 602-505-8550.  I look forward to meeting those I do not know, and seeing the students that I do know.  This is going to be a GREAT YEAR!!!

Green Team Supply list:

 

Green single subject spiral notebooks

Blue single subject spiral notebooks

Red single subject spiral notebooks

(We will be using green for writing, blue for math and red for reading/spelling. I prefer plain notebooks please, so everyone will have the same kind. They generally use about one per month of each color, throughout the school year.)

Red, Blue and Green 2 pocket folders ( 3 each should be enough for the year)

A package of dry beans – (pinto or lima are best – we will use them for math)

Scissors

Crayons

Lots of pencils/erasers

Highlighters

Pencil Box or container to hold crayons, pencils, highlighters, scissors, etc.

Construction Paper

Glue



Classroom Wish list:

Copy paper

Sanitizer wipes

Paper towels

Lots of Pencils

Green, Blue and Red single subject spiral notebooks

Small cups (1ounce cups are best)

Kleenex or Tissue boxes

Football or Soccer Ball or Basketball for class recess

 

 

Please Do NOT Bring:

3 ring binders

Toys of any kind

Cell phones (If your student must have one it needs to be turned off and in their backpack – I am not responsible for it.)

Pens

Pencil sharpeners

Electronic Devices (mp3 players, Nintendo hand held games, I pods, etc.)

     Hello Everyone.  This note is to update you on what is going on in 5th/6th Grade Social Studies.  As the new year starts we have started a new routine in Soc. Studies.  We are now going to be learning about Social Studies and working to improve our writing.  We will do Social Studies work for 3 days in a typical week and work on writing 2 days during a normal week. 

 

     Social Studies :

     In 5th Grade, we will be covering the American Colonies, The Revolutionary War, Slavery, and the Civil War.  In 6th Grade we will continue our study of Ancient Civilizations with the Chinese, Greek, Roman, and Middle Ages.

       Writing : 

       We will be working on writing Narratives (stories), Persuassive letters, poetry, and instructional writing as well.
