Welcome to the Third Grade with Ms. Green.  If you are in my class, you are now an official member of the Green Team!  We are going to have so much fun this year and learn so much - I can't wait to get started.  I look forward to meeting everyone at Meet the Teacher night on Thursday, August 5th from 5pm-7pm. (We will be using green for writing, blue for math and red for reading/spelling. I prefer plain notebooks please, so everyone will have the same kind. They generally use about one per month of each color, throughout the school year.)

     Hello Everyone.  This note is to update you on what is going on in 5th/6th Grade Social Studies.  As the new year starts we have started a new routine in Soc. Studies.  We are now going to be learning about Social Studies and working to improve our writing.  We will do Social Studies work for 3 days in a typical week and work on writing 2 days during a normal week. 

     Social Studies :

     In 5th Grade, we will be covering the American Colonies, The Revolutionary War, Slavery, and the Civil War.  In 6th Grade we will continue our study of Ancient Civilizations with the Chinese, Greek, Roman, and Middle Ages.

       Writing : 

       We will be working on writing Narratives (stories), Persuassive letters, poetry, and instructional writing as well.
